Key Role: Senior Data Engineering Consultant

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data engineering and experience working with clients to deliver high-quality solutions.

Job Description:

This is a foundational hire who will be responsible for delivering hands-on client work, supporting our proprietary data products, and building the team underneath. The successful candidate will be able to architect, implement, and optimize data transformation pipelines, data lakes, and cloud-native warehouses for mid- and upper mid-market clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering hands-on engineering work across client environments – building fast, scalable, and well-documented pipelines that support both analytics and AI use cases.
  • Leading technical design and execution using tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Power BI, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Collaborating with subject-matter experts to understand business use cases prior to designing data models.
  • Operating as a client-facing consultant: conducting discovery, defining solutions, and leading agile project delivery.
  • Providing advisory and strategic input to clients on data modernization, AI enablement, and FP&A transformation efforts.
  • Delivering workshops, demos, and consultative training to business and technical stakeholders.

We are seeking a candidate with exceptional skills and experience in data engineering roles, at least 6 years of hands-on experience, preferably in a consulting or client delivery environment. Strong experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, preferably in SQL-first tools (e.g., dbt core, SQLMesh, DuckDB), Real-world experience with SQL Databases, Databricks, Snowflake, and/or Synapse – and a healthy skepticism of when to use them.

Requirements:
  • Exceptional skills and experience in data engineering roles.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience in consulting or client delivery environment.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Real-world experience with SQL Databases, Databricks, Snowflake, and/or Synapse.
