API Testing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced API testing professional to test and validate MuleSoft APIs and integrations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of API testing tools, REST/SOAP, and hands-on MuleSoft testing experience.

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent technical skills and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and business analysts to understand API specifications and business requirements.
  • Design detailed test strategies, plans, and scenarios for MuleSoft APIs.
  • Testing & Validation
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of MuleSoft APIs.
  • Validate RESTful and SOAP-based APIs, checking response formats, headers, status codes, and business logic.
  • Automation & Tools
  • Develop automated API test scripts using preferred tools like ReadyAPI.
  • Defect Management & Reporting
  • Identify, log, track, and retest defects using JIRA.
  • Data Validation
  • Write complex SQL queries for backend data verification.
  • Agile Participation
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 7+ years in API testing, with 3+ years in MuleSoft API testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, ReadyAPI).
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft platform components and architecture.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Strong understanding of HTTP, JSON, XML, OAuth2, JWT, API security standards.
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications:
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer or MuleSoft Certified Integration/Platform Specialist.
  • ISTQB Certification.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Experience in DevOps pipelines and API automation.
  • Exposure to performance/load testing with JMeter or ReadyAPI.
