Job Title: Database Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Architect to design, develop and maintain high-performance database systems that handle large volumes of data.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Data Management:
  • Design and implement database schemas for storing and retrieving financial data.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes for ingesting data from various sources in real-time.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency and accuracy across all databases.
API Development:
  • Write robust APIs to provide programmatic access to historical and real-time market data.
  • Implement data retrieval services that can handle high throughput and low-latency queries.
Performance Optimization:
  • Architect and manage database solutions capable of handling high write and read loads.
  • Implement performance tuning techniques, including indexing, query optimization and caching strategies.
System Maintenance:
  • Monitor database performance, conduct regular health checks and troubleshoot issues.
  • Implement backup, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Architect or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and the unique challenges of handling market data.
