Senior Counselling Associate- UG Applications

We are seeking an experienced Senior Counselling Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in higher education and excellent communication skills.

Job Description:

This is a pivotal role that requires the ability to provide personalized guidance to students and parents, helping them navigate the complex process of applying to undergraduate programs. As a Senior Counselling Associate, you will play a key part in shaping the journeys of master's, PhD, and other postgraduate applicants.

  • Main Point of Contact: You will be responsible for serving as the main point of contact for students and parents, providing expert advice on academics, extracurriculars, and application milestones.
  • Mentorship Schedules: You will design and oversee structured mentorship schedules with external mentors, ensuring students receive consistent support throughout their academic journey.
  • Profile Evaluations: Conduct one-on-one profile evaluations, advising students on academics, extracurriculars, summer schools, internships, and overall profile building.
  • Test Preparation: Coach students through standardized test preparation (SAT/ACT, APs, IELTS/TOEFL, etc.) and guide them on subject or curriculum equivalencies (IB, A-Levels, CBSE, ISC, etc.).
  • Application Support: Assist in the drafting, reviewing, and refining of application essays, personal statements, activity lists, résumés, and recommendation letters.
  • Mock Interviews: Conduct mock interviews aligned with admissions standards of universities in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
  • Progress Updates: Maintain an updated database of student progress, preparing detailed progress notes to ensure applications stay on track with internal and university deadlines.
  • Scholarship Research: Research relevant undergraduate scholarships, financial aid, and merit-based opportunities, assisting students with applications (CSS Profile, FAFSA, UCAS bursaries, etc.).
  • Evaluation of Admission Offers: Help students and families evaluate admission offers by clarifying financial implications, career outcomes, and long-term pathways.
  • Holistic Support: Collaborate with internal faculty, mentors, and external partners to provide holistic and timely support to students and families.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in higher education or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
