Kafka and Service Mesh Integration Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned expert to lead our Kafka and Service Mesh integration efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and container orchestration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Migrate existing infrastructure from Mirror Maker and Zookeeper to KRaft architecture for Kafka.
  • Upgrade Service Mesh to version 3.0 on production clusters.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Kafka and Service Mesh on OpenShift environments.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Kafka, Service Mesh, and microservices hosted on OpenShift.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive production rollouts.
  • Perform troubleshooting, optimization, and security hardening within a highly restricted environment.
Requirements:
  • Proven expertise in Kafka upgrades, Mirror Maker, and Zookeeper to KRaft migration.
  • Hands-on experience with Service Mesh upgrade using Istio/Red Hat Service Mesh 3.0.
  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenShift (OCP).
  • Solid understanding of microservices communication patterns and hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures.
  • Prior experience in banking or secure environment projects preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite with limited external internet access.
