Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and efficient REST APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.

Your primary focus will be on building robust and reliable backends that meet the needs of our users. You will work closely with our Platform/Infra engineer to ensure security, performance, and cost optimization.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and evolve Postgres schemas and migrations, implement efficient queries, cursor pagination, and Redis caching for hot reads.

You will also enforce input validation, structured logs, and distributed tracing. Your experience with Postgres and queueing systems such as SQS will be invaluable in this position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building Node/TypeScript backends with Postgres and a queue (SQS/Rabbit/etc.)
  • Strong grasp of idempotency, retries/backoff, cursor pagination, error design, and API performance
  • Secure webhooks (signature/HMAC verification) and third-party APIs
  • Growth path to technical leadership with meaningful future upside
