Key Role: Snowflake Data Cloud Expertise

This is a critical position for a skilled Snowflake Data Cloud expert to manage, optimize, and secure our organization's Snowflake environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Snowflake administration, database management, performance tuning, security, and automation.

The successful Snowflake administrator will work closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency of the data platform.

Snowflake Administration:

  • Manage Snowflake accounts, users, roles, and permissions following RBAC principles.
  • Monitor query performance, optimize warehouses, and tune workloads to ensure efficient execution.
  • Oversee databases, schemas, tables, and data pipelines in Snowflake.

Data Management and Security:

  • Implement best practices for data security including encryption, data masking, network policies, and audit logging.
  • Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and automating administrative tasks (SQL, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Track warehouse utilization, storage, and query performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Integration & Documentation:

  • Support integrations with ETL/ELT tools, BI platforms, and cloud services.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of Snowflake configurations, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Snowflake Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake features: Virtual Warehouses, Clustering, Time Travel, Data Sharing, Resource Monitors, Tasks, Streams.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrations.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Airbyte, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data security & governance practices (RBAC, PII handling, compliance frameworks).
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
