The role of a System Administrator at Positka is crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our clients' IT environments. You will work closely with clients to understand their infrastructure needs, implement robust server management practices, and ensure timely patching and updates of both Linux and Windows servers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Linux and Windows server environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Proficiently perform server and firmware patching for both Linux and Windows systems, ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to server operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system patching, configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, helping them to resolve complex issues and improve their IT operations.
Requirements:

To be successful as a System Administrator at Positka, you will need to have:

  • 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator, with a strong focus on both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Proficient in various Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
  • Proficiency in server/firmware patching processes for Linux (e.g., CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Server.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructures, including networking, storage, and security.
  • Experience in backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with technical and business leaders.
  • Knowledge of log monitoring solutions such as Splunk would be an added advantage.

Location: The role location is Chennai. Ability and willingness to travel will be essential. Remuneration: Competitive salary range ₹800,000 - ₹1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
