Job Title: English to Marathi Linguist

We are seeking a skilled professional to handle the translation of advertisements for a leading publication.

The ideal candidate will translate ad copy from English to Marathi while maintaining the original impact, tone, and messaging.

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Marathi Literature, Linguistics, or Mass Communication and 2+ years of experience in translation with a focus on advertising or media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate advertisement content (print and digital) from English to Marathi, including commercial ads, classifieds, promotional content, and display ads.
  • Maintain accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness of translated advertisements.
  • Adapt advertising copy to suit Marathi audience sensibilities without losing intent or promotional appeal.
  • Proofread and review final copy before publication to ensure error-free output.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marathi Literature, Linguistics, or Mass Communication.
  • 2+ years of experience in translation, preferably in advertising or media.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Marathi.
  • Familiarity with advertising language, tone, and persuasive techniques.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in basic computer tools (MS Office, Google Docs); familiarity with ad layout tools is a plus.
