GIS Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled GIS Developer to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom GIS applications and web-based mapping solutions.

You will analyze user requirements to develop and optimize geospatial workflows and tools, integrate GIS applications with various enterprise systems and APIs, and develop scripts and tools for data automation, analysis, and processing using Python and ArcPy.

Additionally, you will perform spatial data modeling, geoprocessing, and complex spatial analysis, maintain and optimize spatial databases, including PostGIS and SQL Server with spatial extensions, and create interactive maps, dashboards, and visualizations using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or Mapbox.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS development.
  • Proficiency in the ESRI ArcGIS Suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience migrating Geocortex Essentials and custom HTML5 web applications into ESRI's JavaScript API version 4.
  • Experience working with VertiGIS Studio Suite and ESRI Experience Builder.
    • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or .NET.
    • Experience with spatial databases: PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial.
    • Hands-on experience with FME, GDAL, or other ETL/data transformation tools.
    • Knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs.
    • Experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems.
    • Familiarity with open-source GIS platforms is a plus.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Certifications in GIS.
    • Experience working with cloud GIS platforms.
    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
