About the Role

The Software Development Manager for FireTV Catalog Core Services and Operations Tooling team will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap for Operations and Tooling, as well as owning the last mile of FTV Catalog Publication system.

Key Responsibilities

Amazon FireTV products are revolutionary consumer devices that have become the #1 best-selling Amazon products. The FireTV Catalog and Operations team owns core Catalog services and tools to understand and manage catalog data, which is continually growing. This is based on cutting-edge technologies such as Java, React, GraphQL, and AWS backend stack. The systems you build are the foundation for FireTV content forward experience and the operational business. It generates critical data to power FireTV's video catalog and discovery experiences.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective, product software engineers
