Job Description

Design Automation Engineer

  • Provide design automation support for products associated with customer group activities.
  • Read and understand project requirements, communicate with project owners to clarify data needed to complete the project.
  • Responsible for micro-project planning and timely submission of work allocated.
  • Discuss project assignments with line managers and maintain all communication in writing through email, even for telephonic discussions.
  • Summarize mail sent for discussed points to respective persons.
  • Follow effective modeling and drawing practices.
  • Ensure deliverables are correct and align with project requirements.
  • Deliver all design automation work allocated on time and accurately.
  • Follow defined company processes and standards.
  • Maintain customer focus and ensure customer satisfaction through delivery of quality work.
  • Complete tasks as defined by immediate seniors, excluding routine tasks.
  • Communicate effectively to avoid ambiguity.
  • If immediate line managers are not available, contact next-level hierarchy for support.
  • Perform QA and QC of API applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience in design automation engineering.
  • Proficient in VBA, VB.Net, C# programming languages, and CAD customization.
  • Experience with CAD software like SOLIDWORKS, Catia, UG, PROE, Autodesk Inventor/AutoCad etc.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in VBA, VB .Net, and CAD Customization coupled with practical experience in CAD software support activity.
  • Knowledge of C is an added advantage.
