Backend Java Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Java Engineer to fill a critical position in our organization.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including a solid understanding of Java fundamentals, design patterns, and software development methodologies. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is required, as well as 5-7 years of experience working with Java.

Skill requirements include:

  • Familiarity with web fundamentals, HTTP protocol, and APIs.
  • Excellent attitude, communication skills, willingness to learn, and collaborate.
  • Experience developing Java applications in an enterprise setting, with 5+ years of development experience.
  • Knowledge of Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Dropwizard, and Node.js.
  • Proficiency in Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery environment.
  • 3-4 years of experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a core member of an agile team driving user story analysis, design, and development of responsive web applications using best engineering practices.
  • Perform hands-on software development, writing code, unit tests, conducting proof of concepts, code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.
  • Refactor code continuously and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Develop deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within supported domains.
  • Manage own time, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Work closely with product managers, backend, and frontend engineers to implement solutions to tricky web development problems.
Requirements

The following qualifications are mandatory for this role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Git, API Gateway, Microservices, Postman, Spring Boot, JUnit, Maven, Selenium Testing Automation, Swagger, and Java Microservices.
