Job Title: Cloud Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Manager to oversee our cloud environment, ensuring seamless performance and efficiency.

  • This role involves managing cloud resources, users, roles, and permissions following established principles.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud administration, database management, performance tuning, security, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage cloud accounts, users, roles, and permissions, adhering to Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) guidelines.
  • Monitor query performance, optimize resources, and fine-tune workloads for efficient execution.
  • Oversee databases, schemas, tables, and data pipelines within the cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement robust security measures, including encryption, data masking, network policies, and audit logging.
  • Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and automating administrative tasks using SQL and Python.
  • Track resource utilization, storage, and query performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Optimize compute and storage costs by monitoring consumption and implementing strategic optimization techniques.
  • Apply patches, monitor updates, and ensure minimal downtime to maintain high service availability.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate cloud services, ETL/ELT tools, BI platforms, and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Cloud Operations Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud features, including Virtual Warehouses, Clustering, Time Travel, Data Sharing, and Resource Monitors.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, Shell).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrations.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Airbyte, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data security and governance practices (RBAC, PII handling, compliance frameworks).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
  • Familiarity with Datadog, Splunk, or other monitoring tools.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps / Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for data workflows.
