Compliance Lead Job Description

A Compliance Lead is responsible for spearheading Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) initiatives. They will drive external audit processes, develop compliance frameworks, and ensure organizational alignment with key regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide GRC strategies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, and other global standards by implementing effective controls and procedures.
  • Lead documentation efforts for SOX controls and ITGCs to maintain a strong risk management posture.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to interpret regulations and provide guidance on compliance matters.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and advise mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date risk registers and track remediation actions to demonstrate proactive risk management.
  • Draft and implement information security policies to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls for IT and SaaS environments to ensure data integrity.
  • Apply COSO, COBIT, and ITIL best practices for governance to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Review control effectiveness through regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Design incident response plans and lead resolution efforts to minimize disruptions.
  • Build awareness programs and train teams on compliance best practices to promote a culture of compliance.
  • Drive a culture of compliance and operational integrity by communicating risk and compliance posture to executive leadership.
