Patent Drafting and Prosecution Leader

Job Description:

Our organization is seeking an experienced patent drafting and prosecution professional to lead our practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, preferably in Computer Science or IT, with at least 5-8 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Drafting high-quality patent applications in US, EP, and India
  • Preparing and reviewing responses to office actions from the USPTO, EPO, and Indian Patent Office
  • Managing and mentoring a small team of patent professionals while ensuring the highest standards of quality and client service

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering (preferred)
  • Law degree (desirable)
  • Patent agent qualification (must)
  • 5-8 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution with a law firm or IP services company
  • Hands-on experience in drafting patent applications and preparing responses to office actions for US, EP, and India
  • Prior experience in managing patent professionals or leading projects
  • Strong understanding of patent laws and prosecution practices across US, EP, and India
  • Excellent technical and legal drafting skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and review work of junior team members
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Client-facing experience with global stakeholders
