About the Role

The System Design Manager combines technical expertise with exceptional leadership skills to guide our healthcare claims processing engineering teams.

This position requires a deep understanding of distributed systems and the ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Design and architect scalable healthcare claims processing systems capable of handling millions of transactions.
    • Lead system design reviews and make strategic decisions regarding complex healthcare workflows.
    • Evaluate and ensure system reliability, performance, and security standards meet regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR).
    • Drive technical strategy for claims adjudication, provider networks, and member management systems.
    • Collaborate with architects on integration patterns and data flow optimization.
  • Team Management:
    • Establish, lead, and mentor a team of software engineers across multiple product areas.
    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning sessions.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
    • Identify and recruit top engineering talent and build diverse, inclusive teams.
    • Manage team capacity, sprint planning, and delivery commitments.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Product, Data, and Operations teams on feature planning and delivery.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation roadmaps.
    • Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and delivery processes.
