Telecommunications Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced ICT and Telecommunications expert to join our growing Technology Systems team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and publishing telecommunications designs to support various projects, including those in the healthcare, commercial, data centre, aviation, transport, and infrastructure sectors.

  • Develop and publish telecommunications designs for projects across multiple sectors.
  • Liaise with other engineers, vendors, and contractors throughout the project duration.
  • Mentor junior and graduate engineers within a multi-discipline design team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ICT and Telecommunications design, utilising standards such as BICSI, ISO, IEEE, and Cisco networking guidelines. They should also possess vendor and industry certifications, demonstrating their capability and skill level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Development and publishing of telecommunications designs.
  • Detailed designs relating to ICT and Telecommunications systems, including structured cabling systems, communications rooms, outside plant infrastructure, active networks, wireless LAN and Wi-Fi modelling, RF systems, technology platforms, and subsystems.
  • Preparation of reports, specifications, calculations, and drawings for tendering works.
  • Liaison with other engineers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Mentoring junior and graduate engineers.

The successful candidate will require extensive experience in ICT and Telecommunications design, preferably in leading, producing, and checking designs. They should have knowledge of network design principles, significant experience working within critical environments, and detailed knowledge on the design and integration of various systems and subsystems.

Requirements
  • Master of Engineering or Master of Science in an electronic, computer systems, or telecommunications course of study.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • Past experience in mentoring is preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience in ICT and Telecommunications design, preferably in the Asia Pacific, USA, Middle East, or UK.
  • Underpinning knowledge of network design principles and significant experience working within critical environments.
  • Detailed knowledge on the design and integration of various systems and subsystems, including telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, active networks, firewalls, radio systems, multiprotocol label switching networks, internet protocol CCTV systems, and building management systems.
