Design Expert for Plumbing, HVAC and Firefighting Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Expert to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing plumbing, HVAC, and firefighting systems for various projects.

About the Role
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Design appropriate plumbing systems for residential, commercial, and industrial developments, including domestic water, sanitary, storm water, hot water, and gas systems.
    • Perform calculations as directed by senior engineers and design plumbing system layouts, pipe sizing, and equipment selection.
    • Ensure compliance with International Plumbing design codes and possess knowledge of Revit and BIM environment.
    • Coordinate with other in-house disciplines to develop designs and have experience with LEED and sustainable design projects.
  • HVAC System Design:
    • Conduct heat load calculations using HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) to determine heating and cooling requirements for buildings.
    • Design HVAC systems, select equipment based on project specifications, and calculate ventilation requirements, pressurization needs, smoke management systems, pump head calculations, external static pressure, and sizing ducts and pipes.
    • Apply knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASHRAE, AHRI, CIBSE, HTM, ASPE, etc., in HVAC system design and coordinate with other disciplines.
    • Prepare design reports, specifications, take-off sheets, and bill of quantities (BOQ) for HVAC systems and participate in project meetings providing technical insights and resolving engineering issues.
  • Firefighting Systems Design:
    • Design fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and hydrants, according to national and international codes, with special emphasis on systems designed for Middle East's unique climate, building types, and regulations.
    • Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems, ensuring proper coverage and compliance with safety standards.
    • Design and layout fire detection and alarm systems, integrating with other building services and review fire protection system submittals for compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Experience:
  • 8 to 15 years in plumbing, HVAC, and firefighting system design.
