Primary Years Programme (PYP) Leader

Our organisation is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our Primary Years Programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and review the PYP curriculum in alignment with IB guidelines, ensuring a cohesive and effective learning experience for students.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers to guarantee successful delivery of the PYP, fostering a culture of inquiry, reflection, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert guidance and support for teachers in creating transdisciplinary units and designing engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Organise and lead comprehensive professional development workshops and training sessions for staff, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
  • Engage effectively with parents and the wider school community to promote understanding, appreciation, and support for the PYP, enhancing its impact and relevance.
  • Coordinate and manage student assessments, maintaining accurate records as per IB requirements, while also providing valuable insights to inform teaching practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IB developments and changes, ensuring our organisation's adherence to IB standards and promoting ongoing excellence in PYP implementation.
  • Facilitate open communication between all stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and the IB organisation, building strong relationships and driving collaborative success.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree or Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • IB PYP leadership training or certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience, accompanied by a deep understanding of the IB framework, particularly the PYP.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities, coupled with a commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
