Sub Editor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sub Editor to join our team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Edit and proofread business articles and reports for accuracy, clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style adherence.
  • Maintain a consistent editorial style and tone across multiple articles or sections.
  • Verify facts, dates, statistics, and other information in the content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with editors and other team members to improve the quality and coherence of the content.
  • Conduct research when necessary to fact-check and validate the information in the content.
  • Rewrite or restructure sentences, paragraphs, or entire sections of the content for clarity, readability, and conciseness.
  • Ensure proper formatting, layout, and presentation of the content, including headings, subheadings, bullet points, and lists.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, current events, and relevant topics to contribute to the content creation process.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of editorial policies, guidelines, and standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong command of the English language, including exceptional grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using editing tools and software.
  • Passion for journalism and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
