Job Description:

Portfolio managers oversee financial portfolios to achieve optimal returns on investment for clients. This involves making strategic decisions regarding asset allocation, risk management, and portfolio rebalancing.

  • They must have strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends, assess risk levels, and identify opportunities for growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Eligibility requirements for becoming a portfolio manager include: the applicant must be a registered investment advisor; have at least five years of experience in related activities within the securities market, including portfolio management, stock broking, investment advising, research analysis, or as a fund manager.

  • Additionally, they must possess a professional qualification in law, finance, accountancy, or business management, or have completed CFA certification.
  • The principal officer must hold NISM XXI-B certification.

In addition, at least two years of relevant experience is required in portfolio management, investment advisory services, or areas related to fund management.

  • The applicant's principal officer must meet the same qualification, experience, and certification requirements as the other officers.
  • The applicant must fulfill capital adequacy requirements, which include a minimum net worth of Rs. 5 crores.
  • Net worth is calculated by adding paid-up equity capital and free reserves, minus accumulated losses and deferred expenditure not written off.
  • The applicant's net worth must separately satisfy the requirements for each activity undertaken under relevant regulations.
