Job Description:

The role involves designing mechanical building services for railway stations and other railway buildings. This includes working individually or as part of a team to produce technical designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing HVAC systems, including heat load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and pressure drop calculations.
  • Selecting and specifying HVAC equipment, such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, boilers, fans, and pumps.
  • Preparing technical submittals and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Developing and maintaining technical expertise in mechanical engineering and related software.
  • Providing input into project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Membership of a professional engineering body, such as IMechE or CIBSE.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines.
