APIGEE Platform Engineer

We are seeking a skilled APIGEE Platform Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and managing APIGEE Hybrid runtime on Kubernetes clusters, automating infrastructure with Terraform, and managing Kubernetes applications using Helm charts.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing, deploying, and managing APIGEE Hybrid runtime plane on Kubernetes clusters.
  • Performing installation, upgrades, patching, and maintenance of APIGEE Hybrid and APIGEE X environments.
  • Managing APIGEE runtime components including Message Processors, Synchronizers, and Cassandra clusters within Kubernetes.
  • Automating infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using Terraform and Helm charts.
  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts using Bash/Shell and Python to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks.
  • Collaborating with API teams to support API proxy deployments, troubleshoot runtime issues, and optimize platform performance.
  • Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for APIGEE platform deployments and API lifecycle management.
  • Monitoring platform health, capacity planning, and performing troubleshooting for runtime and infrastructure issues.
  • Working closely with network, security, and cloud teams to configure secure and compliant environments.
  • Supporting multi-cloud and hybrid cloud deployment strategies, ensuring seamless integration and governance.
  • Documenting platform architecture, operational procedures, and automation workflows.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong experience with APIGEE Hybrid platform deployment and runtime management.
  • Familiarity with APIGEE X and API management concepts (OAuth, JWT, API keys, SSL/TLS).
  • Experience with API proxy development, debugging, and policy implementation.
  • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters (GKE, AKS, or on-prem).
  • Proficient in deploying and managing containerized applications using Helm charts.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, and service mesh is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform for provisioning cloud and Kubernetes resources.
  • Experience using the Terraform Helm provider to deploy applications on Kubernetes.
  • Strong skills in Bash/Shell scripting and Python for automation and operational tasks.
  • Experience developing automation pipelines for deployment and monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM).
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build).
  • Experience integrating APIGEE deployments into automated pipelines.
  • Understanding of network security, firewall rules, VPNs, and cloud security best practices.
  • Knowledge of API security standards and compliance requirements.
