About the Job

This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing the financial operations of Terviva, a food and ag innovation company. Based in Mumbai, India, the successful candidate will sit with our India team and travel regularly to the U.S. and other company locations.

The Global Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting, cash, tax, and risk management operations of the Company. This includes ensuring compliance with local regulations, driving financial performance, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the preparation and consolidation of accounting statements across Terviva's entities in the U.S., India, and Australia, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  2. Maintain local, state, and federal tax records, ensuring timely filing in all business locations.
  3. Manage and ensure timely completion of annual financial audits in the U.S., India, and Australia, while maintaining strong relationships with auditors.
  4. Ensure accounting policies comply with U.S. GAAP, Ind AS, and AASB, providing effective financial representation of the business.
  5. Oversee global and local cash management, including weekly cash reporting and forecasting, assessment of working capital needs, optimization of payments and collections, and management of currency exposure.
  6. Manage risk policies, including global insurance coverage and relationships, and financial commitments, authorities, and policies in collaboration with Legal, CEO, and Board.
  7. Optimize and automate financial processes by developing and implementing an enterprise resource planning system with a focus on core global accounting, budget, timeline, and service provider recommendations.
Requirements
  • 20+ years of experience in private industry (preferably in ag-tech or food-tech) and public accounting, with significant time spent in corporate Controller roles.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and Ind AS, and multi-entity financial consolidations.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP system implementation and optimization.
  • CPA/Chartered Accountant certification.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-cultural teams and work in global environments.
