Role Overview

The Principal Programmer role involves providing comprehensive programming support to the statistics and programming department across various projects, clients, and therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manipulate large databases and generate reports to enable analysts to explore real-world healthcare data assets.
  • Develop complex analysis datasets derived from multiple data sources, with a keen eye for outliers and errors.
  • Implement advanced statistical methods, including survival and regression.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in R and SQL programming.
  • Expertise in Oncology databases such as Flatiron and COTA.
  • Good understanding of Oncology-specific analyses, including Line of Therapy algorithms, Survival analysis, and different statistical models.

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal and client study team meetings effectively.
  • Present study updates internally and at client meetings.
  • Share scientific, technical, and practical knowledge within the team and with colleagues.
  • Perform work in full compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, procedures, and training.
  • Build effective collaborative working relationships with internal and client team members.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other subjects with high statistical content.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of SAS statistical programming experience.
  • Database programming using SQL.
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods, including survival and regression.

Additional Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or other subjects with high statistical content.
  • Training or experience using the OMOP common data model.
  • Training or experience with Python, R, Databricks, or other cloud-based software.
