Optimizing Operational Effectiveness

The operational excellence specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and profitability of manufacturing sites and processes globally. This position collaborates closely with site leadership teams and the director of operational excellence to drive performance transformation, improve operational excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and implementing cost-saving projects through operational efficiencies.
  • Establishing policies and defining standards for group manufacturing excellence.
  • Implementing an overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) program to track, identify, and eliminate lost production causes.
  • Conducting diagnostics to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Performing value stream mapping exercises to define processes and collaborating with sites to implement or streamline/improve the use of lean tools, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Proposing and supporting projects and programs within businesses for identifying improvement levers, setting smart objectives, and carrying out manufacturing excellence initiatives.
  • Supporting the execution of improvement projects by promoting the use of proven tools and approaches to achieve manufacturing excellence.
  • Ensuring sustained improvements by providing training and skill-building opportunities for leaders.
  • Leading and mentoring leadership team members to cultivate a motivating work environment.
  • Recommending and implementing methods to enhance product and/or service quality.
  • Engaging in self-development activities and training others.
  • Exhibiting safety awareness and safe work practices to protect employees and visitors.
  • Collaborating with other OE managers in US, EU & IN sites and the Director of OE (US, EU & IN) to implement improvement initiatives.
  • Performing other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business or as requested.

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering, chemical engineering preferred.
  • Extensive previous experience in implementing OE/CI projects in a manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma to drive business results.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Impact and influence skills, as well as strong experience in change management.
