Data Platform Strategy and Vision

As a key member of our Leadership Team, you will be responsible for steering the investments made in our data and analytics platforms and underlying infrastructure. Your primary goal will be to enable new or enhance existing capabilities with strong collaboration with data product management, data architecture, governance, and engineering teams to achieve our shared goals.

Key responsibilities will include developing a roadmap for the Data Analytics Platform, collaborating with technology stakeholders and peers, and driving the technical vision for Foundational and Advanced Analytics. You will also be responsible for building a business case for data platform transformation and investment opportunities with a clear value proposition, risks, and costs.

Additionally, you will ensure the effective acquisition and integration of data for new use cases through Agile delivery, and develop and execute a plan to maximize self-service and automation capabilities for business stakeholders, developers, and users.

You will act as a gatekeeper for changes to data platforms, ensuring alignment with the platform vision, and develop and execute the data visualization platform roadmap.

Furthermore, you will drive adoption of business intelligence and analytics solutions, gaining support from business stakeholders, and work closely with the Business Analytics teams to define the data platform needs.

As a Data Governance Expert, you will partner with Data Product Managers and Engineers to ingest the required data, automate the data lifecycle, lead testing and deployment of underlying data layers, and ensure compliance with Trust policies and standards with respect to data management and security.

You will also work closely with the Production Support team in the event of incidents, champion a data-driven culture, and lead a team of cross-functional engineers and support and train staff.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Expert technical understanding of technology required to implement, execute self-service data and analytics platforms
  • 12+ years of overall experience in similar roles, with strong understanding of data platform architecture, DataOps, Automation, and related technologies
  • Experience driving Computational Governance, building abstractions in the form of core-libraries, helm charts, automation pipelines to provide strong technical controls and guarantees in a decentralized context
  • Knowledge of big data platforms incorporating the data ingestion, query, governance, and deployment life cycle (Kafka, Python, Spark) on cloud-based deployment standards
  • Experience with modern data platform tooling in Cloud (Azure or GCP with Databricks)
  • Understanding of distributed systems and providing high availability and durability guarantees for all storage systems
  • Working experience with DataOps and Automation through Software Engineering best practices
  • Database Administration skills, experience in designing and implementing Lakehouse/ Data Mesh architecture, influencing skills
