Structural Engineer Role Summary

This is a challenging role for an experienced Structural Engineer to provide technical expertise in the design and engineering of social infrastructure projects.

  • The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, as well as experience in using relevant software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.
Job Responsibilities

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing structural design and engineering inputs for social infrastructure DPR projects, including schools, hospitals, community centers, sanitation facilities, water supply structures, and other similar projects.
  • Reviewing and finalizing structural designs, drawings, and detailed estimates to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Conducting structural analysis and ensuring compliance with IS codes, NBC, and applicable international standards.
  • Coordinating with architects, civil engineers, and other specialists to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Assessing foundation design, load calculations, earthquake-resistant design, and durability aspects.
  • Preparing design basis reports, structural BOQs, and cost estimates.
  • Reviewing DPR deliverables (draft and final reports) from a structural perspective.
  • Providing technical guidance to project teams and supporting capacity building.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong expertise in structural engineering design for buildings and social infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of IS codes, IRC standards, and international guidelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Background

A prior experience in DPR preparation for social infrastructure projects would be beneficial. Additionally, experience in both government and donor-funded assignments, as well as familiarity with sustainable and disaster-resilient design practices, would be advantageous.
