Job Title: Data Engineering Lead Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our data engineering efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning using Google BigQuery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for revamping our data architecture, optimizing pipelines, and mentoring internal developers to ensure smooth transitions.

Data Architecture & Engineering:

  • Assess and enhance existing data models, pipelines, and architecture in BigQuery.
  • Optimize data flows and storage for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Process & Structure Improvement:

  • Review and improve current data collection and transformation processes.
  • Ensure high-quality, consistent, and reliable data.

Support Dashboards & Reports:

  • Enhance and maintain existing reports and dashboards using Looker.
  • Design and build new reports as per evolving business needs.

Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer:

  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather data and reporting needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Guide and mentor internal developers to ensure sufficient handover for long-term maintainability.

Skills:

  • Strong experience with Google BigQuery - data modeling, query optimization, performance tuning.
  • Proficient in building and managing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
  • Solid SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience with Looker - creating/modifying dashboards and understanding ML concepts.
  • Version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD for data solutions.
