Senior US Accounting Specialist Job Description

This is a critical role in managing end-to-end U.S. accounting operations.

  • The Senior US Accounting Specialist will review and process weekly timesheets & client invoices to ensure accuracy and timely submission of payroll/accounting data.
  • They will prepare regular & ad-hoc reports in QuickBooks for financial statement preparation in line with U.S. GAAP.
  • Key responsibilities include managing and reconciling AP/AR accounts, including maintaining master data for employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Liaising with state agencies for payroll, unemployment, and tax matters is also a key responsibility.
  • Additionally, the Senior US Accounting Specialist will assist with GL entries, reconciliations, and month-end close, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of U.S. accounting/bookkeeping experience (staffing/consulting preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is required.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and proficiency in QuickBooks are essential skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations) and excellent communication & attention to detail are necessary.
