Job Title: Senior PHE Engineer

As a highly skilled Senior PHE Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of innovative solutions for public health and fire protection services.

  • You will work closely with clients to create designs that meet their specific needs, conducting thorough calculations and selecting the right equipment and systems for installation.
  • Your key responsibilities will include carrying out detailed engineering design for piped water supply and both above and below ground drainage, including the preparation of layouts, schematics, and details.
  • You will perform engineering design for public health and fire protection services, which involves preparing layouts, schematics, schedules, specifications, and details.
  • In addition, you will draft technical schedules and specifications, organize and manage BIM documentation for design work, and act as a representative for the discipline during client meetings.
  • You will also ensure that service and project work is completed within agreed deadlines and budget, make decisions regarding service and design, and prepare briefing documentation for water, drainage, and fire protection to facilitate outsourcing the design to approved delivery suppliers.
  • Furthermore, you will review design information from a delivery perspective to ensure it meets the requirements outlined in the briefing documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills will be essential in critically assessing building services documentation (drawings, calculations, and specifications) at all design stages, from concept to construction documentation, and providing valuable design input and guidance.
  • You will demonstrate proficiency in designing sustainable plumbing and fire protection systems, including a solid understanding of hydraulics, piping systems, pumps, and equipment.
  • Effective collaboration with other disciplines will be critical to ensuring project coordination and timely delivery.
  • You will supervise junior engineering staff and provide training as needed to ensure that each project meets the required standards.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 8-12 years experience in building services design engineering
  • A Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience in public health and fire protection designing is essential
  • The ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with the ability to work independently
  • A working knowledge and understanding of Indian standards
  • Broad building design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects
  • Excel skills (a detailed understanding including the use of macros)
  • A good understanding of electrical concepts and their impact upon the overall project
  • Awareness of other key design team members such as architects, structural and civil engineers
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, IES, and Hevacomp software
