Job Title: Pharmaceutical Professional
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated pharmaceutical professional to join our team.
The primary function of this role is to compound, dispense, and manage medications in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, assessing the suitability of medications for patients, and providing information and advice on drugs and their side effects.
Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists, calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability for patients.
- Provide information and advice about drugs, their side effects, correct dosage, and proper storage.
- Maintain accurate records of pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, and registries of poisons, narcotics or controlled drugs.
- Plan, implement or maintain procedures for mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
- Assess the identity, strength or purity of medications.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, or evaluate the quality or effectiveness of drugs.
- Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, or drugs.
- Maintain stock levels and store and handle it properly.
- Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
- Offer guidance to customers on selecting medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should also have a strong understanding of pharmacology and medication management principles.
Key Qualifications:
- Pharmacist degree or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the relevant pharmacy board.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of pharmacology and medication management principles.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
