Job Description

At AtkinsRealis, we are currently looking for an HSE Officer to be based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a critical role that contributes to the successful and safe execution of the project.

The HSE Officer will oversee all Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects of the project to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, best practices, and company policies. This includes performing site inspections of work areas, laydown areas, offices, tools, equipment, and vehicles.

The HSE Officer will identify non-conformances and address them with the appropriate method depending on the severity of the nonconformance. They will also develop the Emergency Response Plan and implement it, perform monthly HSE Self Audits, and produce the required internal reports and upload them in the BlueSky (HSE Data Management Portal).

The HSE Officer will provide HSE documentation and support to AtkinsRealis managers and supervisors on site, interface with client representatives to ensure ongoing input to the HSE processes are incorporated, and maintain current, daily knowledge of all active areas, records, and reports as per HSE requirements.

Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Generally, you will have a minimum 10 years of experience and with proven knowledge as an HSE Officer or similar role in large scale construction projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA) are mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of local HSE regulations, international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct risk assessments and incident investigations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to implement and manage HSE management systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in using HSE software tools and applications.
