WebGIS Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled WebGIS Developer to join our team at the Borlaug Institute for South Asia (BISA). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web GIS applications focused on spatial analysis and real-time data processing.

• Design and implement web GIS applications using React, Node.js, and JavaScript to build user-friendly interfaces and dynamic data visualizations.
• Develop and maintain spatial analysis and mapping capabilities using Open Layers, Leaflet, or other suitable libraries.
• Integrate spatial files (TIFF, shapefile, GeoJSON) and ensure efficient and scalable platforms.
• Collaborate with our team to develop and implement data handling and visualization tools using Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Ensure our platforms are efficient and scalable, and integrate with databases and version control systems.

• Bachelor's degree in IT, software engineering, remote sensing, or related areas.
• Experience in developing and maintaining web GIS applications is desirable.
• Proficiency in React, Node.js, and JavaScript, as well as Python, R, or MATLAB for data handling.
• Experience with databases, version control, and geospatial tools is essential.

We offer an attractive remuneration package with various benefits, including health insurance. The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of 1 year, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. Consultancy position on deliverable basis for varying periods can also be considered.
