Job Description

Data migration involves the process of moving data from one system to another. As a Senior Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for leading this effort, including mapping out data requirements, authoring technical specifications, and designing reports to ensure seamless data reconciliation.

You will work closely with functional and business teams to deliver top-notch data migration solutions and technical designs. Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential in this role, as you will be collaborating with cross-functional teams on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop technical migration solutions/design for S/4 HANA data migration projects/programs\
• Design & build PoC for different S/4 HANA migration scenarios\
• Discuss strategic topics related to data migration with subject matter experts\
• Develop comprehensive data migration programs/strategies for conversion of both Master and Transactional data from different legacy systems into SAP S/4 HANA for all work streams/Modules\
• Support the migration manager in preparing the cut-over plan\
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure successful migration\
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members\
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in data migration\
• Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness\
• Develop and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of migration processes and procedures\
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures\
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge\
• Perform other duties as assigned by management\
• Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve organizational goals\
• Contribute to the development of new processes and procedures\
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with data migration\
• Ensure timely completion of migration projects\
• Meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality results\
• Develop and implement data validation and testing procedures\
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration process\
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders\
• Provide regular updates and progress reports to management and stakeholders\
• Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed\
• Perform quality assurance and control measures to ensure data migration meets requirements\
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and cases\
• Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement data migration scripts and tools\
• Develop and maintain effective data backup and recovery procedures\
• Ensure adherence to data security and privacy regulations\
• Implement data archiving and retention policies\
• Manage and maintain data classification and categorization\
• Develop and maintain data lineage and metadata\
• Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and maintain data standards and policies\
• Develop and maintain effective data visualization and reporting tools\
