Job Title: Principal Engineer for Railway Axle Counter Solutions

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Design & Engineering Support team for Railway Axle Counter solutions.

Role Overview

The Principal Engineer will be responsible for ensuring robust design support, compliance with international standards, and driving engineering excellence in both hardware and software domains.

  • Strong technical knowledge of fail-safe signalling product design (HW/SW) and embedded systems.
  • Hands-on understanding of EN, IEC, IS standards and railway signalling & interlocking concepts.
  • Expertise in RAMS methodologies including MTBF, RBD, FTA, and reliability calculations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across all levels.
  • Proven ability in project management, root cause analysis, and vendor/railway officer liaisoning.
  • Ability to lead V&V activities, including First Time Right (FTR) checks to ensure quality and fail-safe product performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing design & engineering support for Railway Axle Counter solutions, ensuring compliance with safety, signalling standards, and RAMS requirements.
  • Leading V&V activities, including First Time Right (FTR) checks to ensure quality and fail-safe product performance.
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to address design, compliance, and product approval requirements.
  • Conducting root cause analysis of product failures, proposing corrective actions, and driving engineering improvements.
  • Managing engineering documentation, design reports, and ensuring compliance with international standards.
  • Coordinating with internal teams for project management, design support, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Supporting embedded system-based product development with a focus on innovation and reliability.
  • Delivering technical presentations, training, and engineering support to internal stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Fostering a culture of strong interpersonal relationships and effective teamwork within the organization.
