Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality Android code
  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Android applications
  • Participate in the design and architecture of Android applications
  • Test Android applications to ensure accuracy, integrity, and interoperability
  • Prepare documentation for outlining logic, code, and implementation of Android applications
  • Create release processes and release documentation for internal and client use
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the Android application lifecycle and Java
  • Experience with Kotlin
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with Room DB, bio-authentication, location-services
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Experience with WebSocket, WebRTC, ARCORE
  • Experience with the modern Android development tools — Android Studio and Gradle
  • Great attitude, team player mentality
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Android application development targeting both phone and tablet form factors
  • Android Native application development using C++ and the Android NDK
  • Experience with crash reporting and application logging solutions
  • Experience with unit testing
  • Experience with Mobile Audio/Video Playback
