Reserving Actuary Role
">The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Reserving Team to analyze and estimate reserves for P&C insurance products. This involves performing loss reserve reviews and analyses, including applying various reserving methods and techniques to estimate liabilities.
Key responsibilities include analyzing data, performing actuarial calculations, and assessing risks to determine appropriate reserve levels. The candidate must stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes related to reserving, including Solvency II or IFRS 17 requirements.
Effective communication is crucial as the candidate will prepare and present actuarial findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders. Collaboration with underwriting and finance departments is also essential to ensure reserve estimates align with business goals and financial reporting requirements.
Additional responsibilities include developing and enhancing reserving tools, models, and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency. The candidate will provide support in preparing financial reports, including reserve-related disclosures, and stay current with best practices in actuarial reserving methodologies and techniques.
As a mentor and guide, the candidate will support junior team members as needed, providing expertise and guidance to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Required qualifications include a strong understanding of actuarial principles and practices, experience with reserving methods and techniques, and proficiency in relevant software applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
