Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Redshift Cloud Data Engineer to support our clients in architecting, optimizing, and scaling cloud-based data environments.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead architecture review and validation for multiple AWS Redshift clusters
  • Validate sizing assumptions and provide right-sizing recommendations
  • Define and implement operational excellence best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting)
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and health metrics for Redshift platforms
  • Analyze and optimize query performance (workload patterns, schema design, tuning)
  • Establish schema governance and define change management/version control processes
  • Define a clear, auditable process for deploying new tables, columns, and views
  • Act as a strategic, consultative resource—not just operational support
  • Collaborate with client teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Redshift environments


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in data engineering or database engineering/administration, with deep hands-on expertise in AWS Redshift
  • Proven experience in cluster architecture review, sizing, and right-sizing recommendations
  • Strong background in query performance tuning, schema optimization, and workload management
  • Expert-level knowledge of Redshift fundamentals: table design (Distribution and Sort Keys), WLM tuning, vacuum operations, concurrency scaling
  • Ability to develop and implement operational best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting)
  • Demonstrated expertise in schema governance, version control, and structured change management
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills—able to clearly articulate solutions to technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience working in client-facing roles within professional services, consulting, or enterprise environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of strategic outcomes—not just tactical tasks
