As a skilled data visualization specialist, you will play a pivotal role in empowering students and educators with interactive data visualizations.

About the Role

This position involves creating accessible, engaging learning experiences that make data meaningful for all learners.

  • Develop interactive data visualizations using React, Raphael JS, and SVG, ensuring alignment with WCAG & ARIA standards.
  • Maintain clean, semantic, accessible code across HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Conduct thorough accessibility testing, utilizing automated tools like Axe, Wave, Lighthouse, and manual testing methods.
  • Collaborate with design and UX teams to craft tools that are both visually appealing and fully usable.
  • Document accessibility best practices and establish consistent guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging accessibility standards and visualization best practices.
Requirements

We seek candidates with 3+ years of front-end development experience, preferably with visualization tools. Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React are essential, along with proficiency in Raphael JS and SVG for building data visualizations.

  • A solid understanding of WCAG and ARIA standards is mandatory.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems is also required.
Bonus Points

While not necessary, experience with user research or usability testing for data visualization, familiarity with additional data visualization frameworks/libraries, and contributions to open-source accessibility efforts or active involvement in related communities can be beneficial.
