Security Automation and Threat Hunting Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Security Automation and Threat Hunting Engineer to join our cybersecurity team at Housing.com, PropTiger.com. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security automation, threat detection, and red teaming, with the ability to develop and implement advanced security solutions.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain security automation scripts and tools to enhance our threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Conduct regular threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities in our systems.
  • Participate in and lead red team exercises to assess and improve our organization's security posture.
  • Develop and implement correlation logic using various security tools such as DLP, WAF, and SIEM to improve threat detection accuracy.
  • Analyze security logs, alerts, and data from multiple sources to identify potential threats and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with other security teams to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest threat landscapes, attack vectors, and security technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on security automation and threat hunting.
  • Proven experience in red teaming and penetration testing.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience with security tools including but not limited to: Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
  • Familiarity with building correlation logic and developing custom detection rules.
  • Knowledge of common attack techniques and the ability to emulate them safely in a controlled environment.
  • Experience with cloud security concepts and technologies (AWS or GCP).

Estimated Salary: $120,000 per year based on location and industry standards.
