Software Engineer for Cloud Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to lead the development of cloud infrastructure solutions. In this role, your responsibilities will include designing and implementing scalable software systems, supervising junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud computing, software engineering, and DevOps practices. You should be proficient in programming languages like Java or Python, have a strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable software systems on cloud platforms
  • Supervise junior engineers and provide guidance on software development best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring adherence to coding standards and security guidelines
  • Participate in architectural discussions and design exercises to create large-scale solutions
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring timely project delivery and minimal downtime
  • Work closely with application teams to ensure business functionality and SLAs are met
  • Educate customers on the value proposition of cloud infrastructure and services
  • Conduct technical sessions for internal teams, partners, and customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Infrastructure automation through scripting (e.g., shell, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity
  • Configuration management using CloudFormation and/or Chef/Puppet
  • Implementing experience with primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, ECS, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, Route53 & S3)
  • Deep hands-on experience leading the design, development, and deployment of business software at scale
  • Hands-on experience building microservices
  • Good knowledge of Docker and K8s
  • Experience in performance optimization techniques
  • High-end troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Proven experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Solutions Architect/DevOps/Sys Ops Certified
  • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a cloud or virtualized environment
  • Experience in programming languages like Java/Python
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
  • Integration of AWS cloud services with on-premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP etc, and good knowledge in Hybrid architecture
  • Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
  • BE / BTech / MCA / MSc CS or similar relevant field
  • Previous working experience as a DevOps engineer for min 3+ years
