About the Role:

As a Strategic Business Intelligence Lead at American Express Global Business Travel, you will be part of the Enterprise Data Management organization within our Technology function. This important role will own and manage a team of engineers for enterprise BI Platform and Analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the BI Engineering team to create technical solutions and provide direction.
  • Create a product vision and strategy, as well as a long-term and quarterly roadmap, to achieve the product vision and improve efficiency.
  • Effectively support multi-work stream engagements, prioritize client requests, and work objectives leveraging appropriate project management methodologies and tools.
  • Manage a geographically diverse team of resources across USA, Canada, UK, and India.
  • Act as an escalation point and lead in removing impediments to achieving goals and objectives.
  • Drive innovation and manage teams within a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Effectively manage issues and risks that arise during the lifecycle of the project/engagement.
  • Coach, guide, and promote the creation of high-quality, clearly documented, and compliant deliverables across teams.
  • Enable integrated teams to deliver technology-driven analytics solutions in support of key initiatives by working closely with product & project managers and developers.
  • Collaborate within and across business units to prioritize, plan, and execute strategic goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of total experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in analytical end-to-end solutions.
  • Experience building and managing complex, large-scale enterprise functions with resilience.
  • Good understanding of BI and Data Processing technologies like Tableau, Alteryx, Python, Redshift/Snowflake.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree where course work could include Statistics, Computer Science, or Information Technology. Candidates with a master's degree are preferred.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining applications.
  • Experience in writing requirements specifications and collaborating with engineers and designers to produce a high-quality product.
  • Experience designing multi-tier web application architecture.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Tools like Azure DevOps/Jira.
  • Strong understanding of development using HTML5, CSS/SASS/SCSS, and JavaScript, Django & Rest Framework.
  • Good knowledge of Python, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Travel domain knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner.
  • Team player, flexibility/ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
