About the Role:

We seek a diligent and detail-oriented investigator to lead field investigations into animal welfare concerns, focusing on industries that use animals for various purposes. The successful candidate will conduct thorough research, gather evidence of cruelty, and develop relationships with trusted contacts and experts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research into animal protection laws and issues
  • Travel extensively to gather evidence of animal cruelty in industries such as food, clothing, entertainment, and labor
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with contacts and experts in the field
  • Document findings through photography, videography, and detailed reports
  • Collaborate with in-house experts to assess evidence and prepare cases for court
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to departmental guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Investigative journalism or related experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Basic veterinary knowledge or experience a plus
  • Fluency in English and Hindi required; fluency in other Indian languages a plus
  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth research and work independently
  • Diligent attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle stress and trauma associated with witnessing animal abuse
  • Willingness to travel extensively and follow instructions carefully
