Key Role: Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive education.

Job Description:
  • Assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardised tests and informal evaluations.
  • Develop and implement Individualised Therapy Plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
  • Work closely with special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support integrated student development.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and adapt therapy plans as needed.
  • Educate and train staff and caregivers on communication strategies and support techniques.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain detailed records and comply with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. To assess the students’ speech, language, and communication skills using appropriate evaluation tools.
  2. To develop and implement individualised therapy plans that cater to each student’s unique requirements.
  3. To provide high-quality speech therapy sessions to help students overcome their communication challenges.
  4. To collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • A valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist (as per local/state regulations).
  • At least 3 years of experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Prior experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual medium of instruction requires candidates to be proficient in English and Tamil.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive aids, and devices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good organisational and documentation skills.
