About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Interior Train Design Specialist to join our team. As an expert in interior train design, you will be responsible for designing and implementing interior train components that meet project requirements and customer acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement interior train components, ensuring compliance with project requirements and customer acceptance.
  • Participate in the production of mechanical domain deliverables, aligning with planning targets and assigned work-packages.
  • Design products considering project requirements, including performance, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, and other essential factors.
  • Prepare and document mechanical domain design reviews according to project schedules and follow up on main open actions.
  • Check respect of allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
  • Report on mechanical domain activities progress, anticipating issues, and alerting if necessary.
  • Respect and/or allocate requirements and mechanical interfaces to sub-systems/equipment, considering allocated volume, weight, location, project-specific part lists, etc.
  • Analyse and consolidate change request impacts on domain scope.
  • Produce domain deliverables, including requirement management in DOORs tool, validation plans, design deliveries, design reviews, co-engineering with cross-functional teams, etc.
  • Validate relevant mechanical domain deliverables and secure planning.
  • Verify design via mock-ups or simulations.

Contributions to Success

  • Support Sourcing, Industrialization, and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
  • Collaborate with MDL for continuous improvement of the Domain, including RoE.
  • Establish Certification & Validation Plans for TD scope.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with 5-7 years of strong design experience in Railway products.
  • Understand basic product design life cycles and engineering rigor to achieve first-time right.
  • Demonstrate good communications and interpersonal skills, including working with third parties (customers).
  • Exhibit time management and reporting skills.
  • Show a customer- and product-focused approach.
  • Possess a sound technical background, with knowledge of RS commodities preferred.
  • Display a structured and organized approach with hands-on skills.
  • Operate English fluently in reading, writing, and technical meetings.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language (e.g., French, German) is advantageous.
