We are looking for a dynamic Social Media Editor to lead our engagement strategies across platforms.

Job Description

The role demands a creative thinker with a deep understanding of social media trends, audience behavior, and digital storytelling.

You will collaborate with the editorial team to ensure that our content reaches and resonates with a broader audience.

Audience Engagement
  1. Monitor social media channels for trending topics, breaking news, and reader engagement.
  2. Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Foster a community around our social media presence, encouraging reader interaction, participation in polls, discussions, and feedback.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the editorial goals.
  • Curate, create, and schedule engaging content across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, , and YouTube.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to repurpose and promote news articles, opinion pieces, interviews, features, and multimedia content relevant to Karnataka's current affairs, politics, education, careers, culture.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We seek a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience in social media management, preferably within the news/media or education industry is required.

Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Proficiency in social media management tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.

Creative thinking with a strong sense of newsworthiness and timing.
