We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Nurse to join our team. As an OR Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures.
About the Role:The Operating Room Nurse will be responsible for preparing operating rooms, assisting surgeons during surgeries, and maintaining the sterility and functionality of medical instruments. You will also monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and provide postoperative care.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and sterilizing surfaces
- Assist surgeons during surgeries, as needed, by providing anesthesia, suctioning, and other support
- Maintain the sterility and functionality of medical instruments, including autoclaving and cleaning
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
- Administer medications, as prescribed by the physician, to ensure patient comfort and safety
- Provide postoperative care, including wound dressing, monitoring for complications, and providing emotional support to patients
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field, with a valid nursing license
- At least 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing, surgical procedures, and patient care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Valid CPR certification and basic life support training
The Operating Room Nurse will work in a hospital setting, with exposure to bodily fluids, noise, and stress. The nurse will be required to stand for long periods, lift patients, and push heavy equipment. A high level of physical stamina is required for this position.
