Hitachi Storage Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Hitachi Storage specialist to join our team as an administrator of the SAN and storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience managing Hitachi mid-range and enterprise storages, including allocation, reclaim, LUN expansion, and deletion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and troubleshooting SAN and storage environments, providing technical support and guidance to customer teams, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Strong communication skills and ability to manage shifts independently are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day administration of SAN and storage environments, including configuration and maintenance
  • Participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting activities to resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Support design, operation, workflow, and issue resolution for storage infrastructure
  • Help maintain systems-level maintenance for storage infrastructure
  • Track existing storage usage trends and capacity planning for future growth
  • Maintain storage documentation, procedures, and reporting
  • Provide storage area network configuration and administration
  • Manage infrastructure events and perform capacity analysis

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience handling majority of activities mentioned in the scope above
  • Experience handling Hitachi storages and Brocade switches infrastructure
  • Exposure to operations and management activities on Hitachi Storage(s), unified compute platforms, various host O/S, including basic cluster management
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Desirable: Hitachi Technical certification
